Kaizer Chiefs plotting to end nine-year trophy drought
Kaizer Chiefs are relishing the prospect of ending their nine-year trophy drought by lifting the upcoming Nedbank Cup title
Kaizer Chiefs star Thathayaone Ditlhokwe has opened up about the club’s only ambition for the season.
Mamelodi Sundowns look set to romp to yet another league title meaning the only other trophy on offer left for the season is the Nedbank Cup.
And according to the Botswana defender, Cavin Johnson’s side have set their sights on lifting the title!
Chiefs have been drawn against Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford FC in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32.

“I can just say that this is the cup that gives us hope,” Ditlhokwe told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
“It is the last trophy for us to compete for this season. Despite giving our level best, we haven’t won anything yet.
“We don’t know much about them. But at the end of the day it is all about focusing on ourselves, preparing and remaining focused in our objective to win. Our only objective is to win this Cup, there’s nothing more. We have only one thing in our minds.”

In other news, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander has reportedly returned to South Africa after concluding a deal with Polokwane City!
The 34-year-old midfielder joined Swedish Helsingborgs IF after his departure from the Glamour Boys.
However his stint in Europe lasted just six months with reports suggesting he has signed a new deal with Limpopo side Polokwane City!
Alexander has made over 280 appearances in the PSL for a host of clubs scoring 16 goals and assisting 11 more and will bring some healthy experience to Rise and Shine.
