Former Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Tebow – nee Nel-Peters – has been accused of “forgetting” her Afrikaans roots. This, after he posted a video of her speaking with a US accent.
The beauty queen – who also won Miss Universe in 2017 – was born in Sedgefield in the Western Cape. After tying the knot with former athlete Tim Tebow in 2020, the beauty queen relocated to Jacksonville in the US.

DEMI-LEIGH TEBOW DRAGGED OVER US ACCENT
In a video posted on her Instagram and TikTok account, Demi-Leigh Tebow shared her favourite hot chocolate recipe.
“This is my little party trick”, the brunette bombshell says.
In the comment section, it was clear that many of her followers were surprised at her “losing” her South African accent.
Some even compared her to comedian Trevor Noah, who still has the same pronunciation.

ADJUSTING TO THE US
Speaking to Life & Style this week, Demi-Leigh Tebow revealed she has to adjust to US holidays like the 4th of July and a wintery Christmas.
She said: “Holiday cards aren’t a big thing in South Africa. When we got married. I didn’t send a Christmas card because we didn’t do that in South Africa.
“And I felt so bad because, you know, all of our neighbors and friends had sent us Christmas cards, and I felt like I was so rude.”
She added: “I just didn’t know it was a thing”.
