Driver miraculously walks away after truck container flattens car
A South African driver miraculously walked away unscathed from a terrifying crash that saw a truck container fall on their moving car.
A video on social media shows a driver miraculously escape from the wreckage of their car that was flattened by a container that fell off a truck.
The video of the wreckage was shared on Facebook by SA Trucker. The container is lifted off the Opel Astra station wagon revealing a badly damaged car.

The road user who filmed the SA truck driver is also at fault in this scenario as they should not be using their mobile phone while driving. Road safety advocacy group Arrive Alive says all road users should learn defensive driving techniques.

Arrive Alive mentions these three important rules:

- Driving characterised by prudence, diligence and reasonable cautiousness with the goal of making the road a safe place not only for a defensive driver but also for other road users.

We have to drive within our ability. Elderly drivers are good at using their experience to compensate for lack of physical strength, reduced eyesight, hearing etc. They drive defensively by adjusting their time of travel and where they drive, Arrive Alive says.
