eSIM technology launched to keep travellers connected
The Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) has introduced new eSIM tech that will help South Africans when travelling.
SATSA’S LAUNCHES NEW ESIM
The Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) has a new tech offering for travellers, in the form of an eSIM that will help travellers in and out of South Africa stay connected wherever they are in the world.

According to Tourism Update, the eSIM is a digital version of a physical SIM card and will allow mobile phone users to connect to a service provider. The new eSIM will also allow access to data services in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide and cut out expensive roaming charges..
“Our new technology, which I have personally tried and tested, represents a breakthrough in global connectivity. This easy-to-install, budget-friendly solution is poised to transform how individuals and businesses connect while traversing the globe,” David Frost, CEO of SATSA said.

“The launch of the SATSA eSIM marks a significant step forward in providing a more connected and efficient travel experience whilst embracing the future of travel technology. We are committed to enhancing the global travel experience through innovative solutions, and our eSIM technology is a testament to this commitment,” Hannelie du Toit, SATSA COO added.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS LIKE?
The eSIM offers a range of relevant packages, which cater for a travellers’ different data needs and lengths of stay.
For instance, travellers to South Africa can expect to pay $5.65 (R106) for 1GB of data, which is valid for seven days. Or $32.50 (R615) for 10GB of data, valid for 30 days.
