The Wild Coast: Three special spots you MUST visit
While there are loads of things to do along the Wild Coast, here are a few that definitely aren’t to be missed!
The Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast is a renowned stretch of land that is as aptly named as it is stunning. While there are loads of places to see along the coast, here are a few that aren’t to be missed!
HOLE IN THE WALL, OF COURSE!
Why you should visit: No trip to the Wild Coast is complete without a visit to the famed Hole in the Wall in Coffee Bay. The iconic structure, which literally is a hole in a wall, is a natural arch formed on a tidal island. With waves crashing in and around the hole, it is a mighty sight to behold and is a must experience during a trip to the Wild Coast.
How to get there: The hole is about 7.5 hours from Durban and 4.5 hours from East London. Find your way to the wall either by foot (guided hikes) or 4×4 vehicles.

MAGWA FALLS ON THE WILD COAST
Why you should visit: If you’re one who’s mad about waterfalls, then the Wild Coast region is the ultimate destination for you. The area is teeming with countless falls like Fraser, Banyane and Bulolo waterfalls, to name a few. Arguably the most majestic out of the lot though, might just be the towering Magwa Falls. Said to be the smaller version of Zambia’s Victoria Falls, Magwa drops down 144m into a narrow canyon and is easily accessible for the adventurous traveller.
How to get there: Located on a tea plantation, Magwa is just 8km outside of Lusikisiki.
