And that’s according to Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung, who addressed the media in Randburg on Thursday.
It is not clear how many tickets were made available for this titanic clash, but the capacity at FNB Stadium is almost 95 000.

However, for safety and security reasons, tickets made available cannot be close to the capacity, and this encounter is no different.

“We are sitting at 80 000 tickets,” replied Jessica when asked how many tickets have been sold for this Soweto derby.

WILL THIS SOWETO DERBY PRODUCE FIREWORKS?
Both Chiefs and Pirates head into the derby on the back of league wins against Cape Town Spurs and Sekhukhune United respectively.

Amakhosi recorded a 3-2 win over Spurs who beat Pirates 2-1 last week, while the Buccaneers edged out Sekhukhune United 1-0.
Now, will this first Soweto derby of the season produce fireworks given that both Chiefs and Pirates are brimming with confidence?
