Metrobus appoints 24 route inspectors
Metrobus said it is pleased to announce the appointment of 24 inspectors who have already started their work on its buses.
Commuters thinking of bypassing the bus fare should think again as Metrobus has introduced 24 inspectors to carry out the responsibility of monitoring operations.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE METROBUS INSPECTORS
In a statement, the entity said it is pleased to announce the appointment of 24 inspectors who have already started their work on its buses.
The main role of the inspectors are the following:
- To ensure that all commuters in our buses pay the correct fares and given receipt as proof of payment.
- To ensure that commuters have a direct line of communication with representatives of Metrobus on any matter of interest to commuters
- To ensure that our bus drivers adhere to the Metrobus code of conduct with respect to the manner in which they operate buses and interact with our commuters.
- To assist the entity in adhering to its Commuter Service Charter.
APPEAL TO COMMUTERS BY THE BUS SERVICE
“It is the responsibility of every commuter to cooperate with the inspectors for mutual benefit of commuters and Metrobus, therefore we strongly encourage every commuter to do so to improve our services,” the entity said.

According to the entity, during the week commencing on 23 October, the inspectors were introduced to a number of commuters.

NEW TECHNOLOGY TOOLS LAUNCHED
Meanwhile, MMC for Transport in the City of Joburg, Cllr Kenny Kunene recently launched world-class technological tools on the Metrobus buses.
Kunene introduction a new bus fleet management system which is expected to provide Metrobus with real-time data, allowing instantaneous and optimised decision-making processes. The eye-on-the-bus will enhance the way Metrobus connects with customers, through the provision of greater safety by monitoring driver behaviour, bus-tracking as well commuter activity.
