A NEW DATING APP ON THE HORIZON
Since taking over Twitter in 2022, the social media app has undergone a plethora of technical and design changes. From creator payouts and paid subscriptions to AI usage and drastic rebrands, it is clear that Elon Musk is determined to revamp X as an “everything app”.
According to a new report by the Business Insider, Musk is eager and committed to tackling and highlighting his newest wish for the social media app, love.
The media outlet also reported that Elon together with X’s current CEO Linda Yaccarino hosted an anniversary meeting, which some sources noted that it felt very “scripted”.
Throughout the meeting the two executives were said to be discussing the app’s recent development. As well as touching on the topic of future developments, in particular, turning the social media app into a “fully-fledged dating site” and “digital bank”.

‘ELON MUSK WANTS PEOPLE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING’
Despite the Billionaires plan to expand the X social media platform, how he plans on implementing these changes and new ideas is still not clear yet.
“Musk did not get into details of how exactly X would become a dating app… however, the idea is in line with Musk’s push for features that require payment, as most dating app’s today are some forms of subscription service”, the sources told the Business Insider.
Another source shared: “He wants people to pay for everything. Elon Musk said during the meeting he expects X to be capable of functioning as a bank by next year, whether or not users want it to be”.
Since acquiring the social media platform for $44 Billion, its value has drastically declined over the past year.
