Heading into the most vulnerable time of the year for many dependents, here are all the SASSA payment dates for the rest of 2023.

As the year draws to a close, here are all the SASSA payments dates for the rest of 2023. The grant-support system is administered by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and now has more than 19 million dependents relying on it.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s mid-term budget policy statement on Wednesday 1 November 2023 is when the fate of SASSA grants will be announced. Costing South African taxpayers R200 billion, it’s been widely reported that the population is too reliant on these endowments.

As a result, there have been reports that certain SASSA grants could be reduced or done away with altogether. While certain political parties and human rights groups have called for SASSA grants to be increased.

SASSA PAYMENT DATES FOR THE REST OF 2023

Whatever the outcome of 1 November’s address here are the SASSA payment dates for the rest of 2023, according to SASSAGrants.co.za:

OCTOBER 2023

  • SASSA SRD Grants: Between Wednesday 25 October and Tuesday 31 October 2023. A reminder to check your status and that payments may take 2-3 days to reflect.

NOVEMBER 2023

  • Older Persons Grants: Thursday 2 November 2023.
  • Disability Grants: Friday 3 November 2023.
  • Child Support Grants, Foster Child Grants, Care Dependency Grants, War Veterans Grants: Monday 6 November 2023.
  • SASSA SRD Grants: Between Friday 24 November and Thursday 30 November 2023. A reminder to check your status and that payments may take 2-3 days to reflect.

DECEMBER 2023

  • Older Persons Grants: Friday 1 December 2023.
  • Disability Grants: Monday 4 December 2023.
  • Child Support Grants, Foster Child Grants, Care Dependency Grants, War Veterans Grants: Tuesday 5 December 2023.
  • SASSA SRD Grants: Between Monday 18 December and Friday 22 December 2023. A reminder to check your status and that payments may take 2-3 days to reflect.
