ACTIONSA SEEKS DETAILS ABOUT WATER SHIFTING ALSO KNOWN AS WATER SHEDDING
Meanwhile, ActionSA Gauteng Provincial Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni has indicated that the party has written to Rand Water and Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu, following his directive for the utility to conduct water shedding.
Last week, Minister Mchunu called on Water service authorities to implement water shifting as part of interim plans to address the challenges that have left some communities in Gauteng without water.
“We have asked for information about the duration of this water shift, an estimate of when water systems will be balanced, and which communities will be affected by it.
“Further, we seek a schedule, including an outline of the factors that have led to the water crisis and a long-term plan to address the shortage,” he said.
