This is our nostalgic Pirates signing of the day feature. Today we have one of The Buccaneers’ finest ever players in history.

ORLANDO PIRATES SIGNING OF THE DAY: TEKO MODISE

Born in Meadowlands, Soweto, 40 years ago, Tsholofelo Modise took his first steps Ria Stars. He later moved to City Pillars where his Player of the Season accolade took him to the PSL at SuperSport United.

2007 was his arrival in the big time with a move to the mighty Orlando Pirates. The “General” left the Buccaneers before the club lifted the famous treble in 2011.

Nevertheless, his controversial move to Mamelodi Sundowns earned him four major trophies that included two league titles and the 2016 CAF Champions League.

His international career featured 10 goals in 55 Bafana Bafana games, including appearances at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE BUCCANEERS?

Meanwhile, Jose Riveiro’s side are training for CAF Champions League action this weekend. The event is a second-round preliminary qualification against Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy.
