Springboks: ONE sublime stat that sets them apart so far at RWC
The Springboks are lagging behind some of their rivals in the attack statistics so far at the World Cup. But they South Africans lead the way in one important department after two games. Find out what it is here.
The Springboks are the best defensive team at the 2023 Rugby World Cup and that statement is underlined by the fact that the South Africans are the only team who’ve not conceded a single try at the tournament to date.

SPRINGBOKS SET THE STANDARD IN DEFENCE
The Springboks took on Scotland and Romania in their opening two Pool B encounters and across the two matches they only conceded three points (a penalty by Finn Russell for the Scots) and didn’t let in any tries.
All of the 19 other sides competing at the Rugby World Cup have leaked tries and points, including against the minnow nations i.e Namibia, Chile and Portugal for example.
In terms of tries scored, only Scotland are yet to cross the whitewash, having only mustered up three points via a penalty against their World Cup opener against South Africa.
Overall, the Springboks have accumulated 94 points and 14 tries in two Tests.
