Malcolm Marx suffered a knee injury, ultimately ruling him out of the Rugby World Cup and sparked debate about who will take his place on the Springboks RWC squad. And it seems the Springboks player’s wife Kirsta is just as devastated as South African fans.

The beautiful brunette and the couple’s infant daughter have been accompanying him during his travels to France amid the tournament.
According to MailOnline, Malcolm is now set to return home after just one game into the competition.
The Springboks will face off against Romania on Sunday, 17 September.

MALCOLM MARX: KNEE INJURY UPDATE
On Thursday, 14 September, South African fans were hit with the bombshell news that Malcolm Marx had been ruled out the Springboks squad.
According to Boks coach Jacques Nienaber, Malcolm injured himself during training in Toulon on Wednesday. Following a specialist scan, Marx was confronted with the news that his Rugby World Cup performance had officially ended.
Marx made his 64th Test appearance in the Springboks’s game against Scotland last Sunday. But, it would unfortunately be his last in the tournament.

Nienaber said in a statement to SA Rugby: “First and foremost, we are extremely disappointed for Malcolm, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.’
“He’s been working very hard to be in the best form possible for the tournament, and it’s tragic that his campaign has ended this way. As a team, we will remain in contact with him, as we do with all injured players”.
Malcolm will be covered by fellow specialist hooker Bongi Mbonambi, who will be captaining the matchday squad on Sunday. However, it’s unclear as yet if he will be officially replaced.
According to social media critics, te latest development has given hope to injury cover players like Joseph Dwimba, Deon Fourie, Marco van Staden and even Handre Pollard.

WIFE IS DEVASTATED
Meanwhile, Malcolm Marx’s wife Kirsta has reacted to news of his long-term injury ruling him out of he Rugby World Cup
In an Instagram Story, the medical doctor shared a screenshot of the news with a crying-face emoji. The post comes just hours after she shared pics of her husband lounging by the pool with their infant daughter Kenna
The Springboks player appeared in good spirits.

Both Kirsta and Kenna have been travelling alongside Marx throughout his travels abroad.
