WARNING: Heavy rainfall, snow expected in some parts of KZN
The South African Weather Service issued a warning for snow in some parts of KwaZulu-Natal, along with heavy rainfall and strong winds.
A level one warning has been issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) for snow in the central Drakensberg region of KwaZulu-Natal, along with heavy showers and strong winds due to impact the area later today.
WHICH AREAS ARE AT RISK?
Amazimtoti, uMthwalume, Durban, Richards Bay, and other localities have all received warnings to be ready for inclement weather that might cause disruptions and possible property damage along the coast.

Wiseman Dlamini, a spokesperson for SAWS, expressed worries about waves and advised caution for people who might venture into the sea.
According to Dlamini, “We are expecting scattered rainfall from late afternoon into the evening, along with a warning of strong gusts around the shoreline. Wave heights of 4.5 to 5.5 meters are predicted along with stormy seas.

Residents and beachgoers should use caution and keep up with any SAWS updates, especially if they have outdoor plans or venture close to the coast, as a result of the weather alerts.
The general people are being urged by authorities to take the required safety measures in order to ensure their safety and reduce potential weather-related inconveniences.

WHICH PLACES WERE WARNED ABOUT DISRUPTIVE SNOW?
TimesLive reported, over the weekend the South Africa Weather Service issued a yellow level 1 alert for damaging wind between Plettenberg Bay and Maputo and along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline.
“Yellow level 1 warning for disruptive snow is expected over the mountains and high ground of the Eastern Cape, the south-western parts of the Northern Cape, the north-western parts of the Western Cape and the extreme south-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal,” the service said.
