ANC Youth League: Refuse to apologise admist FACE-OFF
Following a statement by the Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan demanding an apology from President of the ANC Youth League Collen Malatji, secretary-general Mntuwoxolo Ngudle says “they will never apologise.”
The ANC Youth League stands by its decision not to apologise for its views on state-owned entities.This comes after President Collen Malatji’s remarks.
He told The Citizen that Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan seemed fixated on selling everything. This occurred shortly after the announcement of Eskom’s unbundling process

In August alone, reports relay the league publicly criticising Minister of Employment Thulas Nxesi and Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan.
Speaking to Eye Witness, the league’s spokesperson, Zama Khanyase, said the league was merely voicing the frustrations of the youth.

“No, we will never apologise. The League will never apologise for its views around state-owned entities. It is our position as a structure, and we are saying there must be no sale of state-owned entities,”said secretary-general Mntuwoxolo Ngudle
They hope discussing these matters sparks conversations aligned with the organisation’s narrative and youth voices.

GORDHAN SAYS COMMENTS A DELIBERATE MEANS TO MISINFORM
“Recent attacks by counter-revolutionaries and discredited figures highlight that the public should be aware of vested interests hindering SOC reforms, negatively affecting South Africans.”
“The latest misinformation is further evidence that there is a concerted campaign involving people with vested interest.”
“They only care about lining their pockets, and are intent on sowing confusion,” said Gordhan.
“THEIR CAMPAIGN WILL FAIL”
“This campaign of misinformation, just like the ones before it, is going to fail,” he said.
Gordhan has since said that he will be meeting with the League.
