How do you track your tax return ONLINE?
It’s easy. SARS has launched a new dashboard that allows you to track your tax return online. Click here for all the details.
The 2023 tax season started on 7 July 2023, and you must not forget that the deadline to file a tax return is October 23 2023 for individual taxpayers. But if you’ve already submitted, is there any way to track your tax return online?

Thankfully there is. As part of its new tech-focused initiative, SARS now allows you to track your tax return online through its Online Query System. The portal is called My Tax Status Dashboard and here’s how you access it.
TRACK YOUR TAX RETURN ONLINE
Taxpayers, registered representatives and practitioners can track their tax return online in three keys determinations:
- Successful submission.
- Verification/audit.
- Refund processing.
The My Tax Status Dashboard through SARS aims to keep taxpayers informed so there is no need to phone the SARS Contact Centre or visit a SARS Branch office.
SO WHAT DO YOU DO?
All you have to do is click on this link HERE.
- Select whether you’re an individual, tax practitioner, or registered representative.
- Enter your ID, personal details and income tax number.
- Verify your details with a one-time pin (OTP).
- Then track the status of your tax return.
TAX SEASON 2023
For those of you who have not submitted your income tax returns yet for 2023, SARS insists that you first check if you have been selected for a SARS auto assessment before going through the eFiling process.
