A motorcyclist working for Checkers Sixty60 was killed following a crash in the Alberton area, east of Johannesburg.
THE LOCATION OF THE CHECKERS SIXTY60 MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
On Saturday 29 July 2023 at 18h35, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Alberton Precinct Officers, responded to a reported crash, at the corner of Vermooten and Louisa where a Checkers Sixty60 motorcyclist was involved.
On arrival, Officers found a smashed Hyundai sedan and the destroyed Bigboy motorcycle occupying the intersection, and nearby there was a covered motionless body believed to be of the 27-year-old male biker.
EMPD reports that the 44 years old female of the sedan driver was taken to the Thelle Mogoerane hospital for medical treatment due to slight injuries she sustained.

EMPD SPECULATES THE CAUSE OF THE MOTOCYCLIST DEATH
“It is not clear at this stage what occurred before the crash, but it seems as if one of the drivers disobeyed a red traffic light.”

EMPD confirmed that a case of culpable homicide was registered at the Brackendowns police station for further investigations.

DAVEYTON CRIMINALS FINALLY APPRHENEDED
Meanwhile, EMPD Bronberg Precinct Officers in conjunction with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other law enforcers, arrested three male suspects between the age of 24 and 37 for possession of unlicensed firearms and a home-made firearm in the Etwatwa area.
Information was received by the law enforcers about suspects allegedly terrorising the community, who are alleged to be in possession of firearms. The information was followed up and three male suspects were located at Extension 14 in Daveyton, and upon searching the suspects, three unlicensed firearms, two of which had defaced serial numbers and the third having intact serial numbers, a home-made firearm, twenty (20) live ammunitions, and a knife were found in their possession.
THE MODUS OPERANDI
It is alleged that the suspects were robbing community members and spaza shops.
The suspects were immediately arrested and detained at the Daveyton police station, charged with possession of multiple unlicensed firearms and ammunition, and will soon appear before the Daveyton Magistrate Court.
