FUEL-SAVING MYTHS DEBUNKED
1. PUTTING COCA-COLA IN THE FUEL TANK
No, just no. You don’t need experts to tell you this is not a good idea. The ONLY thing your fuel tank is good for is fuel. Not only will pouring Coke in your fuel tank NOT save you fuel, you’ll run the risk of causing serious damage to your vehicle.
2. FILL UP WITH TOMATO SAUCE (KETCHUP)
This is a terrible idea. Tomato sauce will clog up your fuel system, and if it gets past your fuel filter and into your injector system, major engine damage will occur, too.
3. TAKE A FUEL TABLET
These ‘miracle fuel-saving tablets’ have been around for some time, peddled by all sorts of charlatans over the years. The story goes they not only save fuel but reduce harmful emissions into the environment by 75%.
