NABI NATURENA BOUND?
57-year-old Nasreddine Nabi won back-to-back trebles with Yanga and also reached the CAF Confederations Cup final, where they lost to USM Alger on the goals rule.
Earlier this week, Chiefs’ leadership opened official talks with Nabi, who also has offers from other clubs in Africa. This week, Kaizer Chiefs officially opened talked with the Tunisian tactician, who’s also received offers from North Africa and the Gulf. On Wednesday night, Yanga announced his departure from the club saying he “asked to leave so that he could have a new challenge.”
KAIZER CHIEFS TO ACT QUICKLY
“The leadership of Young Africans Sports Club would like to inform the public that it has reached an agreement to part ways with its coach Nasreddine Nabi after the coach asked not to extend a new contract,” read the official statement on the Young Africans website.
“Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s contract with Young Africans Sports Club has ended at the end of this season. After the end of the contract, the leader of Young Africans Sports Club met with Coach Nabi for negotiations to sign a new contract. But Nabi asked to leave so that he could have a new challenge.
“As the Head Coach of Young Africans Sports Club, Nabi has managed to win two NBC Premier League titles, two Azam Confederation Cup titles, two Community Shield titles and lead our team to the final stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“The leadership of Young Africans Sports Club thanks Coach Nabi for his contribution throughout the period he worked for our team and wishes him all the best in his journey.
“In addition, the leadership of the Young Africans Sports Club has started the process of finding him. The new coach who will replace Coach Nasreddine Nabi.”
