NWU Eagles hammered UFC Shimlas 63-16 in the early match.
In the three late matches, Maties were stunned at their Danie Craven fortress in Stellenbosch by CUT 23-19, while UCT Ikeys fared a lot better, winning 40-19 at the Green Mile against UP-Tuks.
In the final match, despite leading 30-0 at half-time, UJ went down 35-33 to Wits.
