The man who was teased for proposing in KFC married his bride in a dream wedding yesterday, with South Africans everywhere watching the live streaming of the romantic event.

Hector Mkansi’s wedding proposal to Nonhlanhla Soldaat went viral when a fellow customer at KFC caught it on video in November. And within 24 hours SA citizens and corporations around the country had all chipped into ensure it would be the happiest occasion possible.

Mkansi (37) and Soldaat (28) met in 2010 (at a funeral) and have been together ever since. They did originally marry in a small ceremony seven years ago, but it wasn’t their dream wedding.

The dream wedding took place on Tuesday 31 December. Watch below.
