The brave South African kitesurfer who rescued a man and woman as they were about to be stabbed by a knife-wielding attacker on Muizenberg Beach yesterday, has been found!
SAPeople posted Jendy Stewart’s message last night, in search of the Good Samaritan who rescued her and a companion in the midst of an attack by a man with a diving knife.
They were taking an early morning walk on Muizenberg Beach, passed Sunrise Beach, when they were attacked… but before the knife could plunge into her companion, Terence, an “Angel” kitesurfer glided in on his board.
Jendy said the “fabulous hero” stood “bold and strong, chasing the monster away, and waited for us to get into safety.”
With the winds pumping yesterday, she said it was an unbelievable scene as he “arrived from nowhere so fast”… and after the ordeal, all she could think of was the “magnificence of that amazing man” rather than the frightening attack.
To the Good Samaritan, Stewart said:” thank you… if anybody hears this I wish I could find him again to thank him so so much. There is a God and this man was an Angel to us”
Today SAPeople was contacted by someone who was on the beach on Sunday when the unfortunate incident took place.
The person, who wishes to remain anonymous said: “The Brave Kitesurfer lives in Muizenberg, and this is totally in his character – to help and save people in need.”
The kite surfer, who also wishes to remain anonymous, is known for being extremely humble and when asked about the incident, he said that he only did what anyone else would have done if in the same situation.
He has been Kitesurfing for more than eight years, and is “well known amongst the local kitesurfers”.
