On Monday, 9 April 2018, Democratic Alliance (DA) Free State Leader, Patricia Kopane and several other DA ministers will conduct an oversight at Vogelfontein Housing Development in Bethlehem, South Africa.
It is alleged that ANC Secretary-General, Ace Magashule, meddled in a housing project in the Free State to ensure that a Chinese company, Unital Holdings – which is allegedly linked to his daughter – secured a lucrative housing contract worth R150 million.
Further allegations are that tender procurement processes were flouted to ensure that Unital was paid nearly R70 million by the Provincial Human Settlements Department to oversee the project.
After the oversight, the DA delegation will proceed to the Bethlehem Police Station at around 11h45 to lay charges against Ace Magashule for his role in facilitating a corrupt relationship between Unital Holdings and the Free State Provincial government.
The delegation will be joined by local DA Councillors who compiled an extensive report on the failed development.
