The Prince of Wales, Charles, and his wife Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, were attending the 100th annual Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd, Powys where they also visited the floral and equine areas, and presented prizes to sheep and cattle breeders, according to The Royal Family social media page.

Fifteen members of the Zulu regiment opened the Royal Welsh Show – the largest of its kind in Europe – with an Impi warrior dance, and then performed a mock re-enactment of the battle.

The royal couple watched the Zulu display with King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu and one of his wives, Queen Mpumi, King and Queen of the Zulus. Prince Charles reportedly paid the Queen a compliment, telling her “you haven’t aged a bit” since he last saw her in 2011.

The British royals also shook hands and chatted with the shield-wielding Zulu warrior chiefs, dressed in traditional leopardskin attire, to the delight of the British press.

This year also marks 50 years since Charles became the Prince of Wales.

Brand South Africa’s Pumela Salela was also at the show, representing SA and “positioning South Africa as a Globally Competitive Nation”.
