The world is currently witnessing the biggest, brightest super moon in 68 years, which brings more extreme Spring High and Low Tides.
These photos were taken at approximately 16:00.
NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) in South Africa has urged “extreme caution around the coastline between now and the 18th November”.
“It was a hectic wave display this afternoon at Kalk Bay harbour,” says Nigel.
Kalk Bay was also battered with big waves on Thursday when strong gale force winds blew in.
Yesterday equally amazing photos were taken at Plettenberg Bay where the swell caused big waves to slam into the rocks in front of Beacon Island Hotel, on the Eve of the Super Moon. Today swimming in Plett was banned for the afternoon due to the dangerous sea conditions.
