While most South Africans were concerned Friday with farewelling Advocate Thuli Madonsela on her last day as South Africa’s Public Protector, and many were eager for her to reveal the results of her State Capture report (which she has given to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete, for ‘safekeeping’), others were caught up in #ScienceMustFall… following a video from the University of Cape Town (UCT) which has gone viral.
In the video, a UCT student suggests it’s time to ‘decolonise’ science. The Twittosphere went crazy with criticism, with one going as far as to say she had made a quantum leap “from the size of her ego to that of her IQ”…
