South African comedian Trevor Noah underwent an emergency appendectomy early Wednesday morning. South African comedian Trevor Noah underwent an emergency appendectomy early Wednesday morning.
According to a statement from Comedy Central (see above), the operation was successful and the Daily Show host is currently recuperating from the surgery.
CC said: “As a result, The Daily Show will air an encore tonight. We expect he and the show will be back with an original episode tomorrow.”
Messages from well wishers have poured in from all over the world, with a few of Noah’s fans on Facebook begging his Comedy Central bosses to let him have at least one more night to regain his full health. One Canadian pointed out that in her country “you get a mandatory week off after an appendectomy. I agree he should be off for the whole week!”
Noah took over as host of The Daily Show – from Jon Stewart – on 28 September.
