South Africans in London jogged down memory lane with members of the 1995 Springbok rugby team this morning.
Bok fans gathered from early in the morning to take part in the special occasion. Those running met outside the National Gallery at 07:30.
The jog was intended to help recreate the same winning formula as 20 years ago, when the Bokke famously jogged around Sandton before going on to beat the All Blacks at Ellis Park in Joburg in their historic 1995 Rugby World Cup (RWC) win.
And judging by the photos and feedback it succeeded in creating that same wonderful atmosphere!
The 2015 Boks face the All Blacks this afternoon at Twickenham in the RWC semi-finals.
The 3km jog, led by 1995’s captain Francois Pienaar, began and ended at London’s Trafalgar Square.
Tammy Crause was there for the “great atmosphere and awesome celebrations with the ’95 BOKKE!”…joined by her husband Liam, and beagle Molly (who was quite a hit with the Boks!).
