A single tourist visa is on the cards

Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe have revealed plans to simplify the visa process for travellers within their territories by eliminating the need to apply for separate documents. This would be acheived by introducing a single tourist visa for all five nations.

According to VisaGuide.World, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe recently agreed to start working on the launch of a single Schengen-style visa.

The launch of this single tourist visa would mean that travellers wanting to visit these countries would not need a separate visa for each country.

Instead, the new visa would allow them to enter each of the five nations without needing any other additional documents.

These plans are all in a bid to promote tourism and make the countries more attractive to travellers, authorities say.

FLYNAMIBIA AND AIRLINK LINK UP

In related African travel news,

Last year, FlyNamibia, Airlink’s franchisee partner, said that they would begin operating new flights between Windhoek and Victoria Falls, opening the sky for round trip multi-destination travel in Southern Africa.

It’s the first ever scheduled air service between the two destinations and lets travellers fly directly between iconic tourist locations like Cape Town to central Namibia to Victoria Falls and to Kruger National Park, all on a single ticket.

In doing so, this route, and others to follow, reduces travel time, allowing business and leisure travellers to spend more time where they want to be, instead being rerouted multiple times with connections through an en route hub airport.

Flights on the new route began on 4 April 2024, and is operated by FlyNamibia, with modern and comfortable 50-seat Embraer 145 aircraft and flown under Airlink’s “4Z” flight code.

These flights are available in the Global Distribution System (GDS), which provides reach into travel source markets around the world.
