The German tourist Nick Frischke is STILL missing after more than a year. He went missing on 15 February 2023.

IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR THAT HE WENT MISSING

Police and volunteers have searched extensively for Frischke but to no avail.

The 1.75-metre-tall German national is athletic, having completed a climbing course and regularly competing in running races.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, stated that they charged Igshaan Fisher, Jason Abrahams, Vanroy Petersen, Carlo Guenantin, and Melvin Guenantin with robbery with aggravating circumstances.

THE AUTHORITIES FOUND THE FIVE IN POSSESSION OF FRISCHKE’S PROPERTY

“They were found in possession of items belonging to German national Nick Frischke,” said the NPA spokesperson.

The State aims to prove that on 15 February 2023, near Hout Bay, the accused with common purpose assaulted Frischke. And forcefully took his belongings. These include a Redmi Note 8 Pro cellular phone and a backpack containing his bank card.

According to a report by EyeWitnessNews, the Western Cape police said they are following up on all leads to make a breakthrough in the disappearance of German tourist, Nick Frischke, more than a year after he disappeared without a trace.

Despite reports that there are new developments to crack the case on Frischke, police have distanced themselves from the reports.

So far, five suspects – Igshaan Fisher, Jason Abrahams, Vanroy Petersen, Carlo, and Melvin Guenantin – are facing charges of robbery.

THE MATTER WILL GO TO TRIAL IN AUGUST

The group reportedly previously confessed to robbing the German tourist of his belongings, including a cellphone, backpack, and other items.

They, however, denied killing him or having anything to do with his disappearance.

The State, however, made submissions late in 2023 to add murder charges.

Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the matter would go to trial in August.

PROPERTY RECOVERED BUT NO SIGN OF NICK

As previously reported, someone found the German tourist’s ID document in Hangberg, Hout Bay, last year. People believe that Frischke, last seen in the Hout Bay area, attempted to hike one of the trails in the area alone.

Frischk’s family has since offered a R20 000 reward for information about his disappearance. His mother, Jana, had handed over DNA samples to police in June to assist with the investigation.
